I wanted to give this product a true test before raving about it, given it’s price tag, it was important for me to use it for a while first before recommending it. Now that the bottle is almost empty, I can safely say I’ve well tested this product.
What is it?
Essence, within a lotion which claims to “activate and strengthens skin’s foundation to reveal a youthful-looking glow.” It’s suitable for all skin types, and is dermatologist tested, fragrance free and won’t clog pores.
When I first took the Micro Essence out of it’s box I had a flash back to toners of the 1990’s which smelt similar to nail polish remover and left your skin feeling dry and tight. I gave up on toner many years ago, and I hadn’t missed it, so I did wonder what exactly Estée Lauder Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion had to offer. I don’t have bad skin, I suffer the odd pimple but I generally take pretty good care of my skin. I use my Clarisonic when cleansing and have a multi-layered approach to skincare both morning and evening. I love a good serum and rich moisturiser. So again I wasn’t holding out hope for a vast difference after using Micro Essence.
BUT… I was wrong, I did notice a difference. I didn’t change up my skincare routine, I just added Micro Essence, applying it to my skin after cleansing and before using my serum. My skin now looks more hydrated, and the tone of my skin which could’ve been considered somewhat patchy now has a much more even appearance. In simple terms, it’s made my skin look healthier.
Cleanser: Himalaya Herbal Healthcare – Neem & Turmeric Face Wash – > Lotion: Estée Lauder Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion -> Serum: Antipodes – Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone Correcting Serum -> Moisturiser: L’Oreal Youth Code Luminosity Hydrating Day Cream SPF30
Even my Fiancée has commented on my skin feeling softer.
I was at first frightened that this expensive liquid would spill out and I’d be left moping Micro Essence off the floor, but panic not ladies it does have a special dispenser delivering only a few drops at a time. I’ve been using mine since March (it’s September now) and I’ve still got almost an inch of product left.
And for the true test… yes I would buy it again.
